Building confidence
Learning to ride and everything about horses should be fun, enjoyable and give you a sense that you have accomplished something, from either just enjoying yourself and riding well through to learning something new or building on what you have already learnt. Otherwise you just won’t want to continue with it.
It is nearly impossible to learn anything when you are fearful or scared, especially with your first few lessons as if you have never been on a horse you won’t know what to expect. Many people don’t continue after their first few lesson experiences just because of fear.
Part of this comes down to knowing you are on a safe and reliable horse which helps to clear your mind for learning and building up your initial confidence so you can relax a bit and knowing you are in safe hands.
Remember to relax and have fun…otherwise what is the point?
