Some people are happy just to ride every week at their riding schools in a combination of lessons and trail rides and not have the responsibility of caring for a horse. This is a wonderful way of enjoying horses if you don’t have either the time or money to look after a horse of your own full time.

A good instructor though will also teach you many aspects of how to care and look after a horse and will incorporate grooming, how to tack up and saddle your horse, how to handle your horse safely and everything you need to know on how to look after a horse of your own.
